Florida Republican Rep. Francis Rooney has called for the necessity of knowing the whereabouts of former Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef immediately and whether he is safe.

He said in a tweet on Twitter, "Bin Nayef has worked constructively with the United States for several years, and has been instrumental in providing information to combat terrorism after the events of September 11th."

The Washington Post reported on July 6 that the Anti-Corruption Committee of the current Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, was close to completing a detailed investigation into allegations of corruption and treason against Muhammad bin Nayef.

Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Nayef has worked constructively with the United States for many years and was instrumental in providing counter terrorism intel in the aftermath of 9/11. We need to know right now where he is and if he is safe. https://t.co/HdqFkkZsxY

It is noteworthy that the Saudi authorities have placed Bin Nayef in house arrest since his removal from Al-Ahed in mid-2017.

Leaks reported that the authorities arrested Bin Nayef and Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz and his son, along with a number of military and security leaders, last March.

According to Western sources, the authorities charged the detainees with plotting to overthrow the current Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, who is considered the de facto leader of the country.

Earlier, the American Wall Street Journal reported that the two princes Ahmed bin Abdulaziz and Muhammad bin Nayef, who were in the past, candidates for the throne, face a life sentence, up to the possibility of execution.

Commenting on these arrests as well, political analyst at the Rand Corporation for Studies in the United States Becca Wasser said, "Prince Muhammad (Bin Salman) has become more aggressive. ".
