A British tourist discovered three shells on Tuesday on the beach of Veulettes-sur-Mer (Seine-Maritime), between Fécamp and Dieppe. But this vacationer left with one of these explosive devices from the Second World War loaded in his car trunk, reports 76Actu .

The man nevertheless warned the gendarmes. He was then several kilometers from the place of discovery.

Other shells discovered

The soldiers ended up finding him. The object he had recovered was 32 cm long. Rusted, its primer was no longer visible, says 76Actu . The shell was replaced with the other two on the beach where they were found. The deminers were to intervene the next day to eliminate any risk of explosion.

That day, twelve other shells were discovered on this same beach, still by the same man. But this time, the tourist left all the gear on the beach. The deminers were also responsible for securing the area on Thursday.
