The noose seems to tighten around Samia Ghali. Four people were placed in police custody in Marseille as part of an investigation into suspicions of proxy fraud during municipal elections, confirms to 20 minutes the public prosecutor, Dominique Laurens, after information from France Inter. If the investigation focused initially on the camp of Martine Vassal, the Republicans, after revelations from France 2 and Marianne, it was widened to the eighth sector, that which Samia Ghali, various left candidate, won with 400 votes away from the Marseille Spring.

Among those placed in police custody would include a well-known police commissioner from the northern districts, but also Marguerite Pasquini, running mate of Samia Ghali who chaired the session of the municipal council during which Michèle Rubirola was elected mayor of Marseille, with the support from Samia Ghali. Two other activists are also said to be in police custody.
