Shortly after 4 pm, the Maritime and Air Rescue Center received the alarm about the fire aircraft. The idea was that the pilot would land at Skavsta airport, but when he realized that the plane could not fold out the landing site, he turned and landed on the water in the Nyköping archipelago.

- We had sent out several resources to help but we had to recall all because the pilot had time to land. Fortunately, everything went well, says Fredrik Hermansson and continues:

He says that the plane is being debugged.

- The fire planes are built to be able to land on both land and water, but his intention was to land at Skavsta airport, he says.

Lost contact with the pilot

The rescue service was alerted to the airport and there was a large rescue operation after initially not getting in touch with the pilot. But they left the place after receiving confirmation that the landing went well.

- We turned our forces around after we got hold of him, says Ulf Sjöholm, operations manager of the rescue service's command center.
