15 July 2020A 54-year-old tourist from Ravenna was found dead this morning at the bottom of a cliff in the Feltrino mountains, in the Belluno area. The woman had left for a walk yesterday morning and had sent the last photos to her companion from the top of the Coppolo, around noon and a half. Then no more news; his cell phone had gone on ringing until 9:00 pm, before being discharged. The Feltre Alpine Rescue was then alerted yesterday evening.

From a selfie, the rescuers went back to a hiker photographed with her. The man said that he left later than the woman, and that he had found a hat and a bandana along the descent on the ridge, which he had collected to return them in person, thinking that the tourist had lost them. A team of rescuers, accompanied by locals and a rescuer from Sagf, spread along the paths, until a stick was found above a vertical jump, which belonged to the hiker. Today then, at dawn, a helicopter of 'Trento emergency' boarded a rescuer from Feltre and flew vertically to the point of discovery. A hundred meters below the woman's body has been identified. The body, recomposed and embarrassed, was recovered with a winch and transported to the mortuary of the Feltre hospital.
