“It will be right if we send an appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that there is an adequate reaction towards those who make such anti-legal decisions in violation of international obligations, in violation of democracy,” TASS quoted her as saying.

Matvienko expressed the hope that "the reaction will be adequate after all, and not just condemnation."

On July 10, the Federation Council profile commission issued a statement in which it proposed to impose sanctions against the authorities of the Baltic countries due to the situation with RT and Sputnik.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission decided to ban RT broadcasting in Lithuania.

On June 30, the broadcast of seven channels of the group was banned in Latvia. 

The Estonian Foreign Ministry promised to analyze the effectiveness of such a measure as “implementing financial sanctions”.
