China News Service, Beijing, July 15th (Reporter Li Yanan) "Confidence and Transformation in the Post-epidemic Era—Research Report on Chinese Enterprise Executives" was released in Beijing on the 15th. The report shows that 70% of Chinese corporate executives experienced physical or mental health problems during the epidemic, but only 8.7% of them will seek professional help. After experiencing the New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic, 71.5% of the executives of Chinese companies have a more positive overall view of the Chinese medical system; 56.9% of the executives are optimistic about China's economic development, but the uncertainty of the development of the epidemic is still their biggest concern.

As the epidemic in China has entered a normal stage, the adjustment of the physical and mental health and mood of senior corporate executives has also become an important factor for companies to maintain good operations during the post-epidemic period. In view of this, Bupa Global has launched a survey of executives of Chinese companies to better understand the impact of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, their concerns about their own health, and their attitudes towards different medical systems , Expectations of medical insurance, and their views on the world and China’s macroeconomics. The survey collected feedback from 1031 senior managers from various industries in China's first- and second-tier cities.

Mental health has become a problem worthy of attention after normalization of the epidemic

The report shows that 70% of Chinese executives experienced physical or mental problems during the outbreak of the epidemic-mainly boring life, continued depression, anxiety, and even mental fatigue and mental exhaustion. However, only 8.7% of people will seek professional help from healthcare professionals, psychologists or psychiatrists.

After the epidemic has become normalized, although senior management personnel's concerns about the health and safety of their families and themselves, and suffering from infectious diseases have been reduced, life habits have produced long-term changes. The five major changes that the epidemic has brought to executives are: 1) raising personal hygiene awareness and improving personal hygiene habits; 2) eating healthily and exercising more regularly; 3) increasing vigilance in crowded places; 4) Pay more attention to maintaining personal mental health; 5) spend more time with family and friends. Nearly 50% of the executives paid more attention to personal mental health, reflecting the improvement of mental health awareness of high-end people.

Optimistic about China's economic prospects, and relatively pessimistic about the global economy

Another major finding in the report is that 56.9% of corporate executives are optimistic about China's economic development. They believe that the domestic economy will recover quickly and develop as powerfully as before the epidemic, but more than 60% of corporate executives are still concerned about the uncertainty of the epidemic and the potential economic recession. About 40% of corporate executives are relatively pessimistic about the global economic recovery, believing that the epidemic will have a lasting impact on the global economy.

According to the report, major diseases and hospitalizations, as well as the need for epidemiological protection are ranked first in both self-finance and company medical insurance needs. Evaluation of the medical system is more positive, and attention to remote diagnosis and mental health has increased

In addition, after experiencing the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, 71.5% of Chinese executives had a more positive overall view of the Chinese medical system; 53.5% rated the public medical system better than before. Therefore, Bupa Global predicts that executives have a high degree of trust in the domestic public medical system and the demand for insurance for the VIP experience will continue to increase.

In addition, under the general environment in which the government encourages people to buy commercial medical health insurance, the public has an increasing tendency to purchase private medical insurance at their own expense. The demands of executives for self-financed medical insurance and company medical insurance also fully reflect the characteristics of the post-epidemic era. Major illnesses and hospitalizations, as well as the need for epidemiological protection are ranked first in both self-finance and company medical insurance needs. In addition, the top five also found that executives are more concerned about preventive treatment security, hoping to get a higher total protection. As for the demand for company medical insurance, the provision of online/virtual doctor consultation services ranks among the top five, and the demand for mental health support such as psychologists or psychiatrist's diagnosis and treatment protection has increased significantly since the outbreak.
