He arrived at Place Beauvau at the same time as Christophe Castaner. He leaves her a few days after him. The former Secretary of State for the Interior Laurent Nuñez will be named head of the anti-terrorist "task force" of the Elysée, we learned Wednesday from a source familiar with the matter.

Laurent Nuñez, 56, will be the new national intelligence and counter-terrorism coordinator (CNRLT), placed under the President of the Republic. He replaces Pierre de Bousquet de Florian who has become director of the cabinet of the new Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin.

A security specialist

Appointed to the government in October 2018, Laurent Nuñez is a keen connoisseur of security issues. He was previously the head of the Directorate General for Internal Security (DGSI) after two years as police prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône. This prefect was also, between 2012 and 2015, chief of staff of the Paris police prefect.
