Big scare Tuesday morning for three divers off the Ile d'Yeu. According to Ouest-France , they had to be rescued about 28 km (15 nautical miles) south of the Vendée island. Aged 53, 43 and 18 respectively, they were members of a group of eleven divers who went to observe the wreck of the Anglo-Patagonia , located 45 meters deep.
The oldest, taken in charge by the SNSM and a helicopter of the national navy, left the water unconscious. He woke up shortly after, but was however transported by helicopter to the hospital in Angers where there is a hyperbaric chamber allowing the re-oxygenation of the body. The other two divers were brought back to Les Sables d'Olonne using an SNSM canoe.
