The helmet of Tom Cruise in "Top Gun", the lightsaber of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the boxing gloves of "Rocky" and the spaceship of "Alien", which could reach half a million dollars, are going to be up for auction in Los Angeles next month.
The sale, which brings together hundreds of objects and accessories used by Hollywood legends in their cult films, such as Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones" or Clint Eastwood in "Josey Wales outlaw", will be webcast August 26 and 27.
Featured in these auctions: a model over three meters long representing the "Nostromo", famous intergalactic vessel in which the plot of "Alien", Ridley Scott's space thriller takes place. It is estimated between 300,000 and 500,000 dollars.
Composed mainly of wood and metal, it was filmed by Ridley Scott himself to make the plans showing the exterior of the vessel. The director had done "repaint in dark gray, with a significant patina, to simulate several decades of space travel", note the organizers of the sale, Prop Store.
Like many of the pieces to be auctioned, the model belonged to a member of the filming team. It was rehabilitated after being discovered at the bottom of a garden, under a plastic sheet, about fifteen years ago.
"What collectors are looking for are things from the movies they grew up with, the movies they worship," said Brandon Alinger, one of the managers at Prop Store in Los Angeles.
Other rare items include a full costume of Darth Vader - one of the five used to promote the first movie "Star Wars" - and a handful of lightsabers that Ewan McGregor used in "Attack of the Clones" ".
The authentic fighter pilot helmet used by Tom Cruise in "Top Gun" is estimated at around $ 70,000.
The helmet is personalized with the name of the character played by Tom Cruise, "Maverick", while the boxing gloves donned by Sylvester Stallone in his famous film bear the inscription "Rocky".
Fans of Indiana Jones will be able to try to acquire the bronze medallion with the effigy of Ra used by Harrison Ford in "The Adventurers of the Lost Ark" to reveal the location of the precious relic. The accessory is estimated at 150,000 dollars.
