United States President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday the end of preferential treatment for Hong Kong and said he has already signed the sanctions law to penalize Chinese officials who apply new security rules in the former British colony.
"Today I signed the legislation and the executive order to hold China accountable for its oppressive actions against the people of Hong Kong," Trump said at a press conference.
