The firefighting teams managed to put out a massive fire that broke out at the door of the chapel in the Syrian capital, Damascus, last night, which resulted in material damage and property damage, and an investigation was opened into the causes of the fire.

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the commander of the Damascus Fire Brigade, Brigadier Daoud Amiri, as saying that the fire broke out in the vicinity of the Charity Conservation Society in a chapel door, within a fuel tank, and spread to a pile of papers and carton boxes, which led to the rise of columns of smoke Over the area, indicating the participation of 15 fire engines in extinguishing the fire.

The fire brigade of Damascus, Civil Defense, the Rapid Ambulance System, the Field Police Department and traffic personnel came to the scene of the accident, as the fire was completely extinguished this morning, Tuesday.

Brigadier Omairi pointed out that the firefighters managed to neutralize the fire from the association’s building and the neighboring buildings, despite its severity due to the diesel, stressing that there were no injuries, and the damage was limited to the materials.

Investigations are ongoing by the competent authorities to find out the causes of the fire.
