Mr. Ota, who will be the new secretary of the Ministry of Finance, is 60 years old from Shimane prefecture.

In 1983, he joined the Ministry of Finance at that time, and after serving as the Deputy Director General of the Minister's Secretariat and Director of the Finance Bureau, Otoshito was the chief budget bureau chief for two years from July.

Mr. Ota will be working as the top secretary of the Ministry of Finance to work on the budget formation for the next fiscal year and the third year of the Reiwa, as well as the revitalization of the economy and the fiscal reconstruction.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance announced the appointment of Kenji Okamura, Director of International Affairs, to a new finance officer in charge of international finance.

Mr. Okamura is 58 years old from Tokyo.
