“The court sentenced Zaikin to imprisonment for 8 years in a maximum security penal colony with deprivation of the right to hold positions ... for a term of 3 years, with deprivation of his military rank as a major,” the press service said.

Also, Zaikin confiscated 180 thousand rubles in state revenue.

It is noted that it was found that since August 2017, Zaikin, along with another officer Anton Danilovsky, was engaged in the selection of military personnel on a business trip to Syria. For the necessary solution, the attackers took bribes.

Earlier, a court in the Tver region sentenced the former head of the city of Kimra Maxim Litvinov, he was found guilty of receiving a bribe in the amount of about 18 million rubles.
