Hear the car dealer Mikael Andersson talk about how the corona crisis affected him in the clip above.

The number of newly registered passenger cars continued to fall in Sweden during the month of June. The decline was 22.3 percent for passenger cars and for light trucks as much as 50.6 percent compared with the same month last year. The industry association Bilsweden has significantly reduced the forecast for the number of newly registered cars. In 2020, the organization predicts that approximately 270,000 passenger cars will be registered in the country, which is 50-60,000 fewer than the forecast before the corona pandemic struck.

Employed more during the crisis

But Njudung's car in Vetlanda, which sells Suzuki, Opel and Peugeot, has survived the crisis without redundancies and short-term layoffs.

- We have even had to employ people in the workshop, as well as a customer service representative, says Mikael Andersson.

The reason for this is that the workshop has had more to do because the company has started selling a new car brand again. But there are more explanations.

- I also think that it is because when people do not travel abroad this summer to the same extent, you want the car serviced before the car holiday.

Expands its facility

Njudung's car was started in 1960 by Mikael Andersson's father and during the autumn the company takes a new step into the future. Then an expansion of the facility begins, both the workshop and the car park will be larger and more efficient.

- I see a bright future, says CEO Mikael Andersson.
