14 July 2020 The prosecutor of Cremona Francesco Messina asked for absolution for the former governor of Lombardy Roberto Formigoni, for the former general manager of the hospital of Cremona Simona Mariani and for the former managing director of the regional health department Carlo Lucchina. Formigoni and Mariani are accused of corruption, and Lucchina of abuse of office, in relation to the Vero affair, the linear accelerator for oncological therapies that according to the accusation had been purchased at a price higher than the market price.
