Britain will tighten the control of entry into the country of convicted persons

Such a requirement is included in the new UK immigration rules.

“Persons intending to enter the UK may be denied this if they have been sentenced to imprisonment for a term of at least 12 months,” the document says.

Also, people who “have committed a crime that caused serious damage” may not be allowed into the country if they are repeat offenders who show disrespect for the law and if their behavior “does not contribute to the public good”.
