Sometimes an interpreter is used

When a new lease is signed, the landlord has contact with the tenant, and sometimes they may use an interpreter.

- In connection with the signing of a contract, we release information sheets containing all information about our properties. That is where the home insurance is mentioned. It is certainly in Swedish but many who sign contracts have someone who can interpret, otherwise it is not uncommon for us to speak English with those who can. We also provide pure information about home insurance in collaboration with an insurance company. There is very detailed information about what the home insurance means and what it costs, he says.

Looking at new routines

After the fire at Koppargården, Landskronahem is now looking at new routines to further help tenants not to end up in the seat that several families are in right now.

- We have raised the issue internally to look at how we could contribute to even more people taking out home insurance. Everything from information about how to take out insurance and where it is. We want to improve the dialogue even more, or above all, to make the information reach more. We have definitely accepted what has been said, he says.

Does not exclude standard raise

Due to the fire, the property at Koppargården must now undergo a total renovation. Something that could, by extension, mean raising the standard of the apartments - and perhaps a rent increase as well.

- First of all, we take care of the damage that exists, then we can make the decisions about possibly raising the standard of the property. We are currently doing an inventory of the damage and its extent. Before there are quite long gone thoughts about lifting and changing the standard of the houses in this area and we can definitely take the opportunity now to make the changes that were intended, says Mikael Forsberg.

With a standard increase in the apartments, this can mean a rent increase in the apartments. A rent increase that is governed by clear guidelines.

- It may be that the rent is raised, but there are many criteria behind a new rental rate. Then you start from the standard that was before and look at what standard you add, says Mikael Forsberg.
