North Korea's foreign propaganda media,'Echo', today (12th) has a post about Choi Sook-hyun. It is a content that criticizes the culture of violence in the South Korean sports industry and calls for improvement. However, this article was not written by'Echoes', but was published by South Korean internet media'People's Voice' as an editorial on the 7th. 'Echo' also revealed this.

● If you compare'Echo' and'People's Voice',

there is an interesting part when comparing two texts. 'Echo' almost moved the'People's Voice' editorial, but except for the part related to the difference in spelling between the two Koreas, two sentences were representatively deleted. Below is the content.

"Violence and one-way traffic prevailed in society, including past education and labor, but it was overcome considerably as democracy progressed."
"A person's life is like the whole universe."

-The Voice of the People' (July 7), deleted from'Echo'

The part that South Korea's democracy has progressed, and that human life is as precious as the universe, could not have been moved. It would have been difficult to favorably evaluate South Korea, and it could have been burdensome to compare life to space in North Korea, where there is no respect for human life.

● Expressions left by'Echo' "Citizen's Basic Rights"

However, there are some points to pay attention to as well as sentences deleted by'Echo'. 'Echo' left the following part in the'People's Voice' editorial.

"Education should be made to assert self-rights as citizens and to protect them. Education should be provided to assert and reasonably debate the basic rights of citizens, including labor rights. In addition, workers should be able to fight against unjust personality violations, as if there was no job return. Institutions and culture that can claim rights are also essential."

-People's Voice' editorial (July 7, dated),'Echo' also posted

Education that asserts and rationally argues for the basic rights of citizens, institutions and cultures that can claim their rights against unfair infringement of personality, and of course it is impossible in North Korea. Although it is said that the editorial of the South Korean Internet media was copied, it is unusual for the North Korean media to carry such a phrase. What's more, it's even fresh to say that they left these sentences intact, even though they had some sentences they thought were uncomfortable.

● It is still unreasonable to interpret this as a change in North Korea's attitude, and it is still unreasonable to interpret

this phenomenon as North Korea's attitude toward human basic rights. Even if the North Korean Human Rights White Paper issued by the Korea Institute for National Unification is published annually, human rights abuses in North Korea are still commonplace. Moreover,'Echo' is a medium that North Koreans cannot see.

However, it is worth noting that the phrase'basic citizen's right' appeared in the form of quoting the South Korean media in a post that was published with the approval of the North Korean authorities. I don't know if it came from the unexpected treatment of the front line department, or even the slightest reflection of the significance of the North Korean authorities, but we need to watch the situation a little further.
