Since March, sales of bicarbonate and vinegar have increased significantly as housekeeping cleaning has become popular. To see how well the tricks work, SVT reporter Christopher Gimling Shaftoe has tested the joints on the bathroom floor, stove, oven door and an old wooden bench with water, sugar, vinegar and bicarbonate.
- The worst was the sugar bit on the stove and the vinegar mixture works best on the wooden bench, he says.
In the video, SVT's reporter uses two mixtures to clean. A vinegar mixture consisting of 1 deciliter of vinegar, four deciliters of water and five drops of ecolabelled detergent.
The other consists of 1 part water and 2 parts bicarbonate.
