It is noted that the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky held talks with the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, who is visiting Ukraine.

“The parties agreed to work out the possibility of concluding an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the defense sector,” the office of the President of Ukraine said.

The parties also noted their readiness for close cooperation in the context of attracting Ukraine in June 2020 to NATO's Partnership of Enhanced Opportunities program.

In June, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, said that Ukraine had been accepted as a partnership of NATO’s expanded capabilities.
