10 July 2020German manager Harald Espenhahn convicted of the "Thyssen case" - the stake in the Turin factory that caused 7 deaths in 2007 - will begin serving his 5-year sentence by next 16 July: this is what they told the Guardasigilli, Alfonso Bonafede, diplomatic channels.

Espenhahn, like his colleague Gerald Priegnitz, has also been admitted to the semi-liberty regime. In his letter, the German Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia also provided all the information regarding the execution of the sentence, imposed in Italy but applied in the German Land.

"Minister Bonafede, as usual - reads a note in Via Arenula - informed the families of the victims, also indicating that, shortly, a meeting will take place at the Ministry with the family lawyer". The latest communications between the authorities of the two European countries follow the meeting that took place on 1 July between the Guardasigilli and the German Ambassador to Rome, Viktor Elbling.
