At 0:00 on July 10 local time, the South Korean police found the body of Park Yuanchun, the mayor of Seoul, who had previously disappeared near Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. At present, Park Yuanchun is generally regarded as suicide, but the exact cause of death remains to be investigated.

  The South Korean police received a report from Mayor Park Won-sun’s daughter on the afternoon of the 9th, saying that Mayor Park left home four or five hours before the report, and had said something suspicious before leaving. After contacting him, he found that the phone was turned off. The police immediately dispatched search and rescue personnel to search.

  It is understood that Mayor Park Won-chun left the official residence in Jongno-gu, Seoul at about 10:44 am on the 9th. Wearing a black hat when going out, wearing a dark jacket, black pants and gray shoes, and carrying a black backpack. Before going out, he once texted reporters that he would cancel the original itinerary due to last resort. According to an earlier report by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the event originally scheduled for 4:40 in the afternoon was canceled for some reason.

  Another South Korean media reported that Mayor Park Won-sun’s former secretary filed a complaint with the police that day, saying that he had been insulted by Mayor Park several times.

  Park Yuan Chun was born in 1956, a human rights lawyer. In the 2011 Mayor by-election in Seoul, he was elected as a party without party membership and was successfully elected. Subsequently, the Communist Democratic Party, which was in power in 2014 and 2018, successfully re-elected as the mayor of Seoul. With a certain reputation, he is even regarded as a strong competitor for the next Korean president.
