The National Police have dismantled one of the largest criminal networks in Madrid dedicated to the importation of heroin and the cultivation and export of marijuana. During the operation in which more than 300 agents have participated, a total of 46 arrests have been made and 30 searches have been carried out in country houses, warehouses and homes in different municipalities in which almost 8,000 marijuana plants have been seized and 110 kilos of marijuana buds, as well as firearms and all the material used for indoor cultivationof the substance. The organization was made up of three criminal groups, one of them of Turkish origin that was dedicated to introducing heroin into Spain and had contacted the other two to take advantage of the same route and return to Europe with marijuana and hashish.

The investigations began in early November of last year when investigators detected in Madrid the presence of two individuals related to a criminal group of Turkish origin, of which they were aware that they may be opening a route for the introduction of heroin in Spain.

The surveillance and follow-ups that were carried out revealed that a kilogram and a half of heroin had just been introduced, for which one of the individuals was arrested and the narcotic substance was intervened. In addition, the agents were able to verify that they were maintaining contacts with the leaders of two other criminal groups made up of Spanish citizens who had established a complex network for the cultivation, collection, and distribution of marijuana.

The surveillance and monitoring carried out by the agents allowed the structure of the two organizations made up of Spanish citizens to be verified. They were structured in several groups with different assigned tasks, one of them was dedicated to planting and growing marijuana cuttings until they were the right size to be transferred to indoor plantations .

In the plantations, another group was dedicated exclusively to cultivation and harvesting and later another step of the organization was dedicated to recruiting people who collected the buds. Other individuals were responsible for collecting the narcotic drug and preparing it for packaging and shipping.

They took advantage of the routes and vehicles in which they imported heroin

The substance was transferred to European countries as soon as the leader of the Turkish organization reported that the vehicle that had brought the heroin had been unloaded, using the same routes and the same trucks or motorhomes that simulated tourist trips.

Finally, with the proper judicial authorization, a device was developed in which more than 300 agents from different units - judicial police, scientific police, air resources, automotive, citizen security - participated, for the arrest of the members of the organization and the dismantling of the entire criminal structure.

A total of 30 entries have been made in country houses, warehouses and homes in different locations in the Community of Madrid (Madrid, Ambite de Tajuña, Brunete, Cubas de la Sagra, Fuenlabrada, Leganés, Moraleja de Enmedio, Pozuelo del Rey, Rivas Vaciamadrid and Serranillos del Valle) and Castilla La Mancha (Albalate de Zorita, Carranque, El Casar de Talamanca, Galápagos, Méntrida, Los Navalmorales, Recas, Santa Olalla, Ugena and Viso de San Juan).
