On Friday, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt described a court ruling against its general guide, Muhammad Badi, as "retaliation."

This came in a statement of the media spokesman for the group, Talaat Fahmy, on Facebook, after issuing a final sentence to life imprisonment (25 years) against Badie.

"A new retaliatory verdict on the virtue of the Supreme Leader. When the judiciary becomes an obedient instrument in the hands of the military coup," the statement said.

He continued, "It is not surprising that revenge is committed against the aggressor by virtue of life imprisonment, while the criminal aggressor is not mentioned, if he has not been honored!"

He added, "This is how life goes in Egypt (...) without justice, justice and without real justice", according to the same statement.

The Egyptian authorities did not comment on the group's statement, but they used to emphasize respecting the rulings of the judiciary and abiding by the law in dealing with prisoners.

On Thursday, the highest appeals court in Egypt upheld a final sentence of life imprisonment for Badi, his deputy, Khairat al-Shater, and 4 other Brotherhood leaders, in the case known as the "Events of the Guidance Bureau."

This final ruling is considered the sixth of its kind against Badi, as he faces final sentences of life imprisonment in 4 cases known to the media as “cutting off the Qalioub road,” “Ismailia events,” and a “fourth operating room”, in addition to the “Extension office events” case.

He also faces 10 years in prison in the "Juvenile Beni Suef" case, and 3 years in the "insulting the judiciary" case, other than endorsing a judicial ruling that included him in the "terrorist lists" for a period of 3 years.

Badeea, 74, the eighth general guide of the Brotherhood, was arrested in August 2013 in Cairo on the grounds of charges, which he denies, in detail and in detail, of committing and calling for acts of violence.

He is currently being tried in 48 cases, spread over 8 Egyptian governorates, and is being retried in other cases.
