On March 16, Norway closed its borders to minimize the spread of the corona virus. On June 15, Norway opened the borders to other Nordic countries - except Sweden, but except for Gotland. During Friday, the message came that Norway opens up to some Swedish regions.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Norway has announced that the entry ban and quarantine regulations will be valid until 20 August.

Crisis for Strömstad

The closed border has hit hard, among other things, for example, Strömstad's business community, where the hospitality industry is one of the major sources of income. Trade has lost up to 95 per cent of its sales and 30-40 per cent of the working population are notified or are on time leave.

In Värmland, sparsely populated shops are struggling for their survival because of the closed Norwegian border.

- It's up and down everything. It was not on the world map that the border would be closed, trader Elinor Syversen in Bograngen told SVT in June.
