“Today, the Dutch government decided to file a lawsuit against Russia with the European Court of Human Rights for its role in the crash of flight MH17,” the statement said.

The government, the report says, when submitting this petition, "shares all available and relevant information about the crash of MH17."

In March, the Netherlands began hearings on the MH17 crash case.

In February, it became known that the Dutch prosecutor brought charges against four defendants in the MH17 case. The prosecutor’s office said that the SSG has witnessed the launch of the Buk missile.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the SSG’s allegations of “involvement” of the Russians in the crash unsubstantiated and announced attempts to put pressure on the Hague court in the Netherlands before the hearing of the crash.

The Boeing 777, which followed flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014 in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Killed 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
