Brigitte Macron spoke about the role she held at the Elysée Palace and the relationship she has with her husband Emmanuel Macron, since her election in 2017. The First Lady has, among other things, assured that "the future with "her husband" is not worrying "despite the" violence and fantasies "around their couple.

Brigitte Macron, rarely speaks in the media. But when she does, her word is heeded and The First Lady told Friday on Franceinfo about  her life "under the gaze of others", the "violence and fantasies" that pursue the presidential couple. The wife of President Emmanuel Macron admits to being "extremely careful" because everything that is said about the head of state "can fall on" him.

In the preamble, she denies any political influence, she who is nevertheless close to several government ministers. The Elysée Palace, she explains, describing its role, is sometimes a last resort for those who call for help.

"As a wife, the first letters I received were exclusively about health problems," she said. "This is almost the last door we knock on and there is an emergency. I said to myself, I have a duty, for the five years I have been here, to be useful". Brigitte Macron, who chairs the Paris Hospitals-France Hospitals Foundation, put it at the service of patients and residents of nursing homes during the health crisis, for example to provide tablets to confined seniors.

"Lies and fantasies sometimes impose themselves"

The First Lady also stresses that she must watch out for the slightest misstep, especially abroad, citing as an example the commemoration of the June 18 Appeal in London: "At the last moment, I had to have my eyes operated, I had to tell Princess Camilla, otherwise there was a little diplomatic concern, "she explains.

As for the violence on social networks, of which the Macron are sometimes the target, she does not understand it. "Why does the other one become, what Sartre said, the drain hole in my sink? Lies and fantasies sometimes impose themselves and it's crazy that they die hard. It becomes stronger than the truth ".

"The future with Emmanuel is not worrying"

"People think we have powers," she laments, "between us, our life as a couple is simple" even if it is "certainly not like the others. (...) is not constantly in the salons, served by people. We are when we receive, but otherwise we know how to preserve ourselves. It would have been untenable for me if not. "

"The future with Emmanuel is not worrying. He is a solid man, extremely reassuring and extremely kind," she concluded.
