The Cheviré bridge in Nantes - J. Urbach / 20 Minutes

A spectacular rescue. Three police officers managed to rescue a man who threatened to jump from the Cheviré bridge, Tuesday, around 9:35 p.m., in Nantes. Upon their arrival, the 41-year-old individual was leaning into the void and holding his arms cross, reports the police.

The three policemen then stepped over the parapet and grabbed the individual by the collar, the shoulders, the arms to bring him abruptly back without him having time to try to hide.

Handcuffed to the bridge to prevent it from falling into the void

They then tried to grasp the forties by the armpits to tip it over to the secure side of the parapet. In vain. Unable to tip him over to the secure side of the bridge, the individual struggling violently, the police had the reflex to handcuff the forties to the bridge to prevent him from tipping over into space.

Saved, the forties was taken care of by the firefighters. His partner, who had just come to the police station to report the disappearance, was notified.
