“I have no reaction to this,” Peskov answered a request from journalists to comment on Zhirinovsky’s statement.
Earlier, Zhirinovsky said that the arrest of his party member, the head of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal, was carried out "not in the most correct form."
He also said that the Liberal Democratic Party will defend Furgal and "never expel" him from the party.
Furgal was detained on July 9 as part of a multi-episode investigation into an organized crime group. According to investigators, he is the organizer of the attempted murder and murder of a number of entrepreneurs.
As specified in the Investigative Committee, testimonies on Furgal were given by accomplices of the murders under investigation.
