Media: US and South Korea discuss ways to resume dialogue with North Korea

It is clarified that the conversation between officials in Seoul focused on ways to ease tensions on the Korean peninsula and options for overcoming the current diplomatic impasse in inter-Korean relations.

According to the agency, the US official also announced the readiness of the American side to resume dialogue with North Korea on nuclear issues.

Earlier, DPRK Deputy Foreign Minister Tsoi Song Hee stated that Pyongyang did not see the need to resume the negotiation process with Washington.
