African-American George Floyd repeated more than 20 times that he was unable to breathe and warned the arresting police officers that they were going to "kill" him, just before he was suffocated to death during his arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, according to court documents.

The death of African-American Floyd in police custody on May 25 sparked a wave of protests against racism and protests against police brutality across the United States and around the world in which protesters called for racial equality and police reform. Floyd was being arrested for trying to pay with a fake $ 20 bill.

" Tell my children that I love them. I am dead ," Floyd said during the nearly nine minutes that the officer knelt over him while he was about to die.

According to the transcript released Wednesday by the cameras the officers were carrying and as part of a lawsuit filed in the Minneapolis court, during the arrest Floyd pleaded with the officers not to put him in the police vehicle because he was claustrophobic and had physical problems.

"It's over. I'm claustrophobic. My stomach hurts. My neck hurts. Everything hurts. I need water or something, please. Please? I can't breathe, officer," he said. "You're going to kill me, man," said the victim.

Derek Chauvin, the cop who knelt over Floyd, replied, "Then stop talking, stop screaming, it takes a lot of oxygen to speak ."

Chauvin, who is white, was arrested on May 29, four days after Floyd's death. He pleaded not guilty to the charges of second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. Three other former police officers have been accused of aiding and abetting the case.

At one point, one of those officers, Thomas Lane, suggested that Chauvin turn Floyd aside, according to the transcript. "No, it stays where it is," Chauvin replied.

All four officers have been fired from the Minneapolis Police Department. Neither of them made statements during a brief hearing on June 29.

The transcript was made public as part of an attempt by Lane's attorney to convince the judge to dismiss the murder complicity charges brought against him.
