Despite increased search pressure - new students at Mälardalen University will be offered housing

- It looks positive, we have housing and hope to cover the guarantee as usual, says Linda Dahlgren, housing informant at Bostad Västerås, which provides student housing to Mdh students in both Eskilstuna and Västerås.

In Västerås there are about 1800 student housing, in Eskilstuna about 430. It varies between the academic years where certain programs start, and this year is a so-called "Eskilstuna year" when several of the popular programs start there.

- This means that it will be a little trickier to get housing in Eskilstuna, but we still expect to be able to do so.

How long do you have to wait for a notice of housing?

- When the application is registered and the admission notice is sent, you get an offer almost on the day. Then we adjust the move-in to August 1 or September 1, when most courses start at the end of August, says Linda Dahlgren.
