July 09, 2020 He has been hiding for 20 years. 20 years of hiding, then arrest. Luan Vrapi, a 47-year-old Albanian accused of being the author, with other accomplices, of the murder of Telharaj Hyso, a 22-year-old young farm worker killed in the countryside of Foggia in 1999, was extradited to Italy and became a symbol of the fight against the corporal.

Vrapi accused of voluntary murder and aggravated personal injuries, landed at Fiumicino airport escorted by the staff of the International Police Cooperation Service (Scip) who tracked him down in Tirana thanks to constant collaboration with the Albanian police. Delivered to the prison police in Bari, the 47-year-old was transferred to prison and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.

The history of Hyso
The name of Hyso was often remembered also by Libera who last year, for the twentieth anniversary of his death, promoted three days of memory and commitment in his honor. Hyso had come to Italy to look for work and had found him as an agricultural laborer for the harvest of fruits in the Foggia area but he was assassinated by the corporals because he had not given in to their blackmail and had not paid the lace.

Don Ciotti: "Hyso example of dignity and courage"
Don Ciotti also spoke of his murder in November 2019 on a visit to Tirana: the 22 year old, he said, was an example of dignity, courage and rebellion against all forms of organized crime.
