“Today is a big day for diplomacy with Russia on strategic security: at a meeting with Russia's ambassador to the United States, Antonov, Assistant Secretary of State Ford completed planning for a space security workgroup at the end of July,” the statement said.
It is also noted that "Ford invited the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Ryabkov, to a new round of strategic security dialogue, which last took place in January."
The State Department said earlier that the United States would invite China to arms control talks with Russia in Vienna.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that the United States "has not yet said what they want" from the participation of the PRC in the talks: so that Beijing will increase its nuclear arsenal to Washington's level or the United States itself is ready to reduce its arsenal to the level of China.
