• Pandemic Coronavirus: Breaking News

Are you able to ride a roller coaster and not scream on the way down? If so, congratulations, you are the favorite customer of amusement parks in times of coronavirus.

A Japanese amusement park, Fuji-Q Highland, near Tokyo, again open after the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, has asked its customers not to scream in the roller coasters so that they do not scatter droplets and thus minimize the risk of Covid-19 infections.

To encourage visitors to abide by these new rules of conduct, everyone who goes to the amusement park is invited to put on the most serious face they can on the roller coaster souvenir photo. The amusement park has recorded a video in which two of its executives get on this attraction with a mask and serious gesture. The video ends with a request to users: "Shout with your heart."

The rest of the visitors can upload their serious and undisturbed photos at the attractions to social networks and the best will receive tickets to the park as a prize.

The rule of not screaming in the roller coasters - as well as that of wearing a mask on a compulsory basis or that of respecting social distance - figures, according to 'The Wall Street Journal', in guide with the recommendations for the reopening of the Association of Japan Theme Parks, published in late May; an association representing dozens of parks across the country.

After the dissemination of this rule, many people complained that it was impossible not to scream on a roller coaster because it is a reflex act. It was then that the managers of Fuji-Q Highland came up with the idea of recording a video showing that it is possible.

Record numbers of infections in full de-escalation

Japan's attempts to recover normality after the first impact of COVID-19 had a serious setback on Thursday when it was learned that 224 infections were registered in Tokyo today, the highest daily number since the coronavirus began to plague the country.

The figure is above the 206 cases recorded on April 17, the highest so far, when the country was in a state of sanitary emergency due to the spread of the virus.

The increase in the number of positives in Tokyo occurs in the midst of a de-escalation in Japan, whose health alert lasted from April 7 to May 25, and with the imminent relaxation of restrictions on public attendance at major events.

Starting tomorrow, July 10, the authorities will allow sports and cultural events to be held with half the capacity of the facilities, up to a total of 5,000 attendees.
