Never before has the price of holiday homes in Sörmland been as high as in June, measured in something called K / T numbers - which should not be confused with money. Among other things, the number takes into account location, age and standard, which according to Swedish broker statistics gives more reliable calculations.

At the same time, the number of holiday homes sold is record high.

"The market has exploded"

- The holiday home market has exploded. But it is worth knowing that the numbers are lagging, so it will be extra interesting to look at these numbers in a few months. Our feeling is that the market has performed incredibly well, says Andreas Ersson, franchisee at the Real Estate Agency in Strängnäs.

Why did it go so well?

- I think the whole holiday industry in Sweden has gone well this year. People cannot go abroad and so many people look at holiday accommodation in Sweden. For people in larger cities, such as Stockholm, it will be extra interesting to look at holiday homes within a reasonable distance from the home, and that is Sörmland. And there are many Stockholmers who have applied to us.

Differences within the county

However, there are large differences in prices for holiday homes between the county's nine municipalities. In Trosa, the average price for the past three months was close to SEK 2.6 million and lowest in Vingåker with SEK 1.1 million. The average price for the entire county was just over SEK 1.7 million.

Villas and condominiums

In the case of condominiums, a slight fall in prices was noted in March and April, but now it is on the rise again. House prices have risen slightly since March.

- We noticed a halt in the middle of March and April. But quite quickly we also noticed that people started returning to their everyday lives again, and the customers we talked to reasoned that they will own their housing before as well as after the corona, says Andreas Ersson.
