If there is a name in the history of Spanish television that evokes affection, sympathy and closeness, it is, without a doubt, that of Laura Valenzuela. After more than five decades of work, the former presenter and former actress - she never considered herself as such - retired from public life in 2012 after collecting the award for a lifetime career awarded by the Television Academy.

It was the first great face. The woman who sneaked into salons throughout Spain to become one more member of all families. The same thing happened to Paco Valladares in a male version. In Lazos de sangre, a program presented by Boris Izaguirre, Laura is this Wednesday the absolute protagonist in this televised biography.

It started by chance. After being fired from a fashion store , Ozores told her to go to Madrid's Paseo de la Habana because they were apparently looking for presenters for something called television. Laura did not know what it was. He did a live test, there were no recordings, and he captivated everyone with his beauty, his height, his grace and his intelligence. Not surprisingly, she had been interned in France and when she returned to our country, she realized that she spoke better French than Spanish. But immediately she put the batteries.

The year was 1954 and, from there, his life changed forever. Above all, when he presented Galas del Saturday (1968) with his dear friend Joaquín Prat, his best-known professional partner, or in different editions of the Eurovision Song Contest.

He debuted in the cinema with El pescador de coplas and starred in some classics in history, such as El tulipán negro (1964) with Alain Delon , Las que tener que serve (1967), with Concha Velasco , Amparo Soler Leal or Alfredo Landa or Españolas en Paris (1971), his last film that was produced by José Luis Dibildos, whom he met in 1958 and whom he married in 1971.

They formed an exemplary marriage. Six months after the ceremony, Lara Dibildos was born who, over time, would also become one of the most beloved characters in the heart press. The presenter retired completely to dedicate herself to her family and returned to the media with the birth of the private ones, specifically, in the Telecinco space , tell me? (1990). She never regretted saying goodbye forever to the big screen (because she did not like herself and was very nervous) or saying goodbye to the little one.

Over the decades, he had to deal with various setbacks. Her daughter suffered from thyroid cancer in 1991 and she underwent a breast cancer operation in Houston in 2005. The other bitter moment was the death of her husband from a heart attack in 2002, one of the most important producers in the history of cinema. Despite this blow, the bond between mother and daughter became even more unbreakable. Currently, at 89 years old, Laura is enjoying her two grandchildren, Fran, 22, and Álvaro, 13.
