“My colleague Evgeny Smirnov and I filed an appeal against the decision of the Lefortovo court to arrest Safronov,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

He noted that lawyers consider the court’s decision to arrest Safronov illegal and unreasonable and ask the appeal court to cancel it.

Advisor to the head of Roscosmos, Ivan Safronov, was detained by FSB officers on July 7 in Moscow. It was reported that he was suspected of working for the intelligence service of one of the NATO countries. Safronov said in court that he does not admit guilt in treason. He was arrested until September 6th.
