Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 7th: President Xi Jinping recently exchanged letters with President Fernandez of Argentina to exchange views on the joint efforts of the two countries to combat the new coronary pneumonia epidemic and strengthen practical cooperation in various fields.
Xi Jinping emphasized that in the face of the epidemic, the Chinese and Arab peoples are in the same boat and support each other, reflecting the profound friendship between the two peoples. At present, Latin American countries such as China and Argentina are facing the arduous task of fighting the epidemic, stabilizing the economy and protecting people's livelihood. China is willing to continue its active anti-epidemic cooperation with Argentina and provide assistance within its capacity. Xi Jinping emphasized that China firmly supports Afghanistan’s efforts to maintain national stability and development, and is willing to deepen friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in various fields between the two countries to promote greater development of China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership.
Fernandez expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their tremendous efforts in responding to the epidemic and for their leadership role in the international fight against epidemic disease. He particularly thanked China for its assistance to Argentina. Seeing the truth in adversity, at this special moment, we deeply feel the profound friendship between Afghanistan and China. I firmly believe that we are starting a glorious period of relations between the two countries and that the comprehensive strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and China will be further deepened.
