Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta is continuing consultations to find a solution to the political crisis that arose from the contestation of the last legislative elections. He has already received opposition on Sunday. Dissatisfied after this meeting, the opponents hardened their tone by asking for his resignation. Monday, the Convergence of Republican Forces (CFR), which brings together associations and political parties "republican" but close to power, denounced the request of the opposition and called for dialogue.

We say that M5's requests are illegitimate, unfounded and inappropriate, because they are not based on any electoral logic and neither on the laws of the Republic. We also appeal to their sense of responsibility to go towards the dialogue advocated by the friends of Mali, by the notables of Mali, by the religious liberals of all confessions of Mali. We ask everyone to be inhabited by reason and to return to the Republic so that Mali can move forward. You know that it has been three weeks since we have had no government, the country has been in crisis since 2012. The common enemy that all Malians must fight together is terrorism in the Sahel which is rampant in the north of our country and even in the center.

Fatoumata Sacko, vice-coordinator of the Convergence of Republican Forces (CFR)
