• Italy: The world's largest amphetamine seizure: 14 tons near Naples, manufactured in Syria

Without mask, naked and in a group. Italian police surprised six people on Sunday while they were nude on the beaches of Lake Lecco, in the Italian region of Lombardy, assaulted by thousands of tourists during the weekend.

The six men, aged 43 to 68, were sighted by a police patrol boat, which is used to enforce social distance measures to prevent outbreaks of coronavirus in the country. The fine that each of them received - and that included acts contrary to public decency - was 3,300 euros, as stipulated in article 726 of the penal code, a total of almost 20,000 euros of penalty.

Over the weekend, the army participated in a series of checks along the lake shores and with foot patrols, but also with the help of the patrol boat. About 70 people were identified on the shores of the lakes , mostly tourists from South America and Eastern Europe, but also residents of the area.

The areas of Onno, Moregallo, Mandello del Lario and Abbadia, where the carabinieri, in addition to trying with little success to enforce distances and security measures, also had to deal with those who had decided to wear a tan, regardless of the proximity of the children present.

Lombardy has been the Italian region hardest hit by Covid-19. Although the confinement was gradually lifted, the use of face masks in open spaces is mandatory.
