Earlier in Moscow, adviser to the general director of Roskosmos, a former journalist of the Vedomosti and Kommersant newspapers, Ivan Safronov, was charged with charges of treason.

According to the FSB, Safronov was carrying out the mission of “one of the NATO special services”, collecting and transmitting information that makes up state secrets. 

The Kremlin specified that the detention of Safronov is not related to journalistic activities.
