Volunteers testing the COVID-19 vaccine at Sechenov University are doing well. This was reported by the head of the Center for Clinical Study of Medicines of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenova Elena Smolyarchuk.

According to Elena Smolyarchuk, patients feel good, the reaction to the vaccine lasted no more than a day. Redness appeared on the skin at the injection site, some recorded headache, sore throat, joint pain and fever. However, the severity of these reactions was minimal, therefore, medical intervention was not required. All reactions were stopped within 24 hours.

“To date, the volunteers are in good health, there are no complaints, all vital functions are normal,” Smolyarchuk noted in a comment to RIA Novosti. 

As the doctor specified, the first group of volunteers received the vaccine more than three weeks ago, and the second group - just over two.

Clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine began at Sechenov University on June 18. An extract of the first and second groups of volunteers, subject to good health, is planned for July 15 and 20, respectively.

In Russia, they also test the coronavirus vaccine created at the N.F. Gamalei. Her clinical trials began on June 18 at the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after Academician N.N. Burdenko in Moscow. 

The Ministry of Defense reported that after two weeks from the moment of vaccination, the volunteers had no complications or adverse reactions.

All of them are under the constant dynamic supervision of medical specialists - they are regularly measured for pressure, pulse, temperature, performed auscultation and laboratory tests "to study the intensity of the humoral immune response", and also examine the injection site.

Meanwhile, the operational headquarters is reporting 6,368 new cases of COVID-19 in Russia over the past 24 hours. The total number of cases detected over the entire period reached 694,230. Of these, 159,718 were in Moscow, where 2,066 new cases were registered per day. 

In total, 463,880 patients recovered from coronavirus in Russia, including 9,551 people over the past 24 hours.

198 deaths were recorded, and over the entire period 10,494 people died from the disease.

Patient Tracking

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communications has developed a system for tracking contacts of patients with coronavirus using data from mobile phone numbers and tracking geolocation. This was reported in the text of the bill proposed by the department.

Specialized algorithms will help identify people with whom the infected contacted over the past two weeks.

The list of such subscribers will be specified taking into account data on the time spent by the subscribers together and the particulars of movement during the observed period. Thus, a list of people at risk will be formed.

The obtained data will be centralized on the information resources of the Ministry of Communications of Russia, and also sent to the operational headquarters of the regions, the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The second wave in Moscow

In turn, the head physician of the hospital in Kommunark Denis Protsenko answered on the air of Channel One to the question of whether the second wave of coronavirus is threatening the Russian capital.

"I hope no. Let's be careful, but hope not, ”said the doctor.

He recalled that the restrictive measures introduced in Moscow were removed in stages, and this “step-by-step abandonment of any strict quarantine measures with constant monitoring of what happens with the incidence of coronavirus” allows us to count on an optimistic forecast.

Restrictions in the regions

Meanwhile, Russian regions continue to mitigate or extend the restrictions introduced due to coronavirus, based on the epidemiological situation. So, in the Novosibirsk region from Monday, July 6, summer cafes and verandas resumed work. Prior to this, the catering could function only takeaway. When restaurants can open the halls is still unknown. In the region, sports are also allowed on the street in compliance with social distance, walking, visiting food markets.

Primorsky Krai also reported the lifting of a number of restrictive measures. 

“As we said last week, while maintaining this epidemic situation, we can open fitness centers. In the near future it will be framed by the decision of the operational headquarters. Therefore, from July 7, subject to sanitary safety measures, they will be able to start work, ”said Governor Oleg Kozhemyako at a meeting of the regional headquarters.

In the Kemerovo region, the mandatory 14-day isolation for arrivals by air was partially canceled. Passengers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Anapa and Simferopol should no longer be quarantined.

The exemptions do not apply to those who arrived from these cities by train or car. These restrictions still apply to residents of other regions and countries with an unfavorable epidemiological situation.

At the same time, the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic in the Sverdlovsk Region were extended until July 13. Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev recalled that some enterprises and many shops have resumed their activity in the region, and cafes and restaurants are open in the summer veranda mode, but this is "the maximum possible."

“We cannot completely abandon the restrictions - you see that every day we record more than 200 new cases of coronavirus infection. Therefore, I ask you to carefully observe all reasonable measures that have been introduced to protect your health, ”he added.
