“Over the past ten years, Russian mine rescuers have eliminated the consequences of more than 380 major accidents, saved the lives of more than 10 thousand miners,” the TASS press service quotes.

As indicated in the Ministry of Emergencies, in total, mine rescuers cover about 1,500 hazardous mining production facilities: coal mines, opencast mines, mineral processing and enrichment enterprises, etc.

In March it was reported that the Vorkutinskaya and Zapolyarnaya mines in Komi resumed work after a smoke incident that resulted in the evacuation of all 242 miners working there.
