The Hubei Provincial Department of Water Resources officially launched the Level III emergency response to flood and drought disaster prevention at 8:00 on the 6th.

  At 6:00 on July 6, the water level of Hubei Jianli Station on the main stream of the Yangtze River broke through the alert. In view of the current severe situation of flood defense, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Working Regulations for Emergency Response to Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention of Hubei Provincial Department of Water Resources (Trial)", it was decided to upgrade the Hubei Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention Level IV emergency response at 8:00 on July 6, 2020 To level III.

  Since entering the plum on June 8, Hubei has been hit by six consecutive rounds of heavy rainfall, with an average rainfall of 387.3 mm across the province. The rainfall in 11 cities and states including Wuhan and Huanggang exceeded 400 mm. Affected by this, the lake water level rose rapidly. Yichang, Xiangyang, Ezhou, Xiaogan, Jingzhou, Huanggang, Jingmen, Huangshi and other places were hit hard. The Hubei Provincial Department of Water Resources launched a level IV emergency response to flood and drought disaster prevention on June 28.

  Hubei Provincial Department of Water Resources requires that all localities and units strengthen monitoring, forecasting and early warning, do a good job in water engineering scheduling, strengthen project inspection and defense, increase the investigation and rectification of hidden dangers, and ensure the safety of flood control.

  According to the Hubei Provincial Emergency Management Office, as of 8:00 on July 6th, strong rainfall has caused 283,800 people in the province to be affected; the crop area affected was 27.55 thousand hectares; 33 houses collapsed due to the disaster; direct economic losses of 165 million yuan.
