July 6, 1940 Nursultan Nazarbayev was born. In the post-Soviet space, the politician set a record for the duration of his presidency, which he held for almost 29 years. His political career began in Soviet times at the same factory where he worked as a simple worker. In the early 90's, Kazakhstan, under his leadership, quickly overcame the crisis and switched to stable economic growth. In honor of Nazarbayev, in the spring of 2019, the capital of the country Astana, which is now called Nur-Sultan, was renamed.
