Share05 July 2020Gala evening for the delivery ceremony of the 'Nastri d'Argento' from the MAXXI Museum in Rome, transformed for the occasion into a set to celebrate the great cinema. Anna Ferzetti will lead and guide the 74th edition, in the name of solidarity to underline the importance of cinema in a season marked by Covid-19.
Among the protagonists, spotlights on the challenge between the 'Favolacce' of the D'Innocenzo brothers awarded in Berlin and the 'Pinocchio' by Matteo Garrone. With them in five for the prize for the best film also 'The most beautiful years' by Gabriele Muccino, 'Hammamet' by Gianni Amelio and 'La dea Fortuna' by Ferzan Ozpetek.
And this year there are ten, exceptionally, the authors selected for the best direction : also Pupi Avati, Cristina Comencini, Pietro Marcello, Mario Martone and Gabriele Salvatores competing together with the directors nominated for the best film. Again, here are the names competing among the leading actresses : Giovanna Mezzogiorno (Returning), Micaela Ramazzotti (The most beautiful years), Jasmine Trinca (The goddess of luck), Lunetta Savino (Rosa) and Lucia Sardo (Picciridda). For the actors who are not protagonists in the race, however, Roberto Benigni (Pinocchio), Carlo Buccirosso (5 is the perfect number), Carlo Cecchi (Martin Eden), Massimiliano Gallo and Roberto De Francesco (The mayor of the Sanità district) and Massimo Popolizio ( The first Christmas - The thief of days). So, the supporting actresses : Barbara Chichiarelli (Favolacce), Matilde Gioli (The golden men), Valeria Golino (5 is the perfect number - Portrait of the young woman in flames), Benedetta Porcaroli (18 gifts) and Alba Rohrwacher (Maybe ).
