Real Madrid returned with a valuable victory from Atlético Bilbao thanks to a goal from a penalty by Sergio Ramos, who continues to break the tenth goal in the Spanish League this season.

Real Madrid made a big step towards achieving the league title for the first time since 2017 thanks to its seventh successive victory since the resumption of the League matches after the forced suspension due to the outbreak of the Coruna virus.

As part of the 34th stage of the competition, the Royal Club traveled to face Athletic Bilbao in the toughest confrontation among the remaining matches of the team before the end of the season.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw, after a fairly equal performance between the two teams.

In the second half, a negative tie remained between the two teams until the 73rd minute witnessed the goal of winning the signing of captain Sergio Ramos, from a penalty awarded by the referee after returning to the assistant video technique (Var).

Ramos raised his score to ten goals in the competition this season, as well as the fifth goal of the veteran defender in the seven games that Real played in the competition since the resumption of the season's activities last June.

And Real won 21 points out of 21 points available in these seven games that he fought since the contest resumed, raising his score to 77 points at the top of the
competition table, widening the difference with the defending champion and second-placed Barcelona to seven points.

Barcelona can reduce the difference to four points if they beat Villarreal at a later stage in the same stage.

The balance of Bilbao was frozen at 48 points in eighth position, knowing that it suffered defeat today after two successive wins in the competition.
