The young people are responsible for the spread of infection in Östergötland

In previous articles we have been able to tell how the corona infection has drastically decreased among the elderly. In Åtvidaberg and Mjölby it has completely disappeared. Only one case was registered in Linköping during the week and the infection prevention doctor Britt Åkerlind is pleased that the spread of infection in the county's elderly homes is broken. She is more concerned that more and more young people are infected.

- The infection is dominated by the young, especially those in their 20s, and we can make a connection back to student celebrations, says Britt Åkerlind.

In order for the infection not to return to those who are older or who constitute a risk group, Britt Åkerlind now appeals to the young to show consideration.

- We want to appeal to the young, strong and healthy to keep their distance because there will be rings on the water and in the end we have other groups that will be affected, says Britt Åkerlind.
